One of my favorite games of 2016 is getting a physical release, and we got the details here direct from its developer, The Game Bakers.
If you’re not familiar with it, Furi is a rapid paced boss rush game inspired by bullet hell shooters and iconic boss battles in gaming, and it. is. challenging. If you want to see more, check out our interview with Emeric Thoa, one of the game’s designers, at PAX East 2016, and our game play video when it launched on Steam and PS4 last July.
After a successful release as a part of Sony’s PlayStation Plus membership at launch, and garnering critical acclaim and Steam acclaim (93% positive in fact), The Game Bakers are releasing the game in physical form, as well as a CD release of the game’s soundtrack (easily one of my favorite pieces of the game’s overall design)
The Collector Edition includes a blu-ray box for the game, a steam code redemption for the game and DLC, a disc copy, a copy of the CD, a 24 page manual and a sticker with artwork card.
If you want to pre-order the Collector Edition, it’s available on theindiebox.com
For PS4 owners, the console’s version, respectively, will be limited to a release of 5,000 copies, and not only is a physical copy of the game but includes the DLC, and a digital code for the soundtrack as well.
Both versions will be marked at $30
If you’re interested in the award winning soundtrack on it’s own (with tracks composed by Carpenter Brut, Danger, The Toxic Avenger, Lorn, Scattle, Kn1ght and Waveshaper) there will be a CD standalone available for pre-order on furi.bandcamp.com for $15, and also will be sold by Limited Run Games starting in June, who, by the way, also have a double vinyl version of the soundtrack as well.
