Marvel is everywhere these days and it’s best to either buckle up and enjoy or look elsewhere for entertainment, because it’s here to stay. As someone who has a rather positive outlook on the whole superhero domination, this isn’t too hard to accept, but even I have grown tired of some of the more monotonous programming (coughAgentsofShieldcough). This makes the first trailer for the FX series Legion look even more promising, with an off kilter tone, some wacky musical interludes, and a color scheme that suggests strong of it’s source material. Dan Stevens stars in the series with Aubrey Plaza and more costarring and it looks to be cutting itself a nice place in the superhero pantheon. The only real concern might be the idea of how can a show with the premise it has extend itself for longer than a season (or few episodes even) but with the team that brought us Fargo it’s hard not to expect good things.
Legion follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real.
