It was announced that two of the Baudelaire orphans have been cast for the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Malina Weissman will play Violet, the eldest of the siblings, and newcomer Louis Hynes will play Klaus. If Weissman looks familiar it’s because she has a recurring role on the CBS hit show Supergirl as a young Kara Zor El. For Hynes, this will be his first major role.
Emily Browning and Liam Aiken played Violet and Klaus in the 2004 film.
A few weeks ago it was reported that Neil Patrick Harris has been in negotiations to take on the role of the evil Count Olaf, but there is no word yet on whether he is officially on board with the project. I expect that we will begin to hear more news on the highly anticipated series very soon.
