Last night, before the premiere of Black Sails, Starz aired the first minute from second half of Outlander season 1. Producer Ronald D. Moore introduces the clip to warn us of a bit of change in the show’s dynamic. Watch the opening scene now:
So… what do we think of Jamie’s perspective? I have to admit it’s a jarring change from Claire’s POV, which I immediately liked. Jamie’s POV oozes with honor and sincerity, which go right in hand with his character, but it doesn’t full connect with the audience. At least, it didn’t for me. It also made me giggle a little bit. However, it’s hard and not exactly right to judge Jamie’s POV on a one minute scene. If anything, it has me intrigued, especially with that mystery woman who appeared behind him.
The series return of Outlander is sure to be interesting. While Moore says this new clip will help with the wait, it’s only making it harder. Outlander returns Saturday, April 4th on Starz.
