[tps_title]Luciana Villalba’s Top TV Shows of 2014[/tps_title]
I’ve been slacking on TV shows lately, but managed to get five on this list, which can’t be a bad thing, right?
- True Detective – Absolute best in acting, directing, story, everything about it. I was so enthralled in the story, trying to find out who was The Yellow King and Carcosa as much as Rust and Marty.
- Orange is the New Black (Season 2) – My favorite girl gang is back and it was as great as I expected it to be. Except for Larry and his pointless scenes.
- Last Week Tonight – The best writing in a late night show in years, probably. While I do believe that what makes the show stand out is Oliver’s exceptional delivery (and British accent), the writing is definitely what makes this show gain so much popularity. Every single bit is viral and GIF-worthy, and if you’re trying to explain to people what net neutrality and student debt is all about, this is the way to go.
- House of Cards (Season 2) – Mr. and Mrs. Underwood (especially) absolutely killed it (figuratively or not) in this season of House of Cards. Is it February yet?
- How To Get Away With Murder – One of the few shows that I actually watch live, and so far I really, really like it, but I have a feeling that everything will be resolved in this massive flashback once the series ends. LOL.
