As the finale of season two of the CW’s Arrow aired a preview for one of their most anticipated shows gave audiences their first taste.
The preview for The Flash doesn’t give much away and is really more than anything a hint of what’s to come but it seems promising. Grant Gustin plays Barry Allen-the titular hero-and if the few seconds we got with him here is at all a reflection on the upcoming show fans should be pleased to see that the characters lighthearted nature and humor appears intact.
Because who on earth wants a dark and gritty Flash?
We were already given something likened to a backdoor pilot for the show earlier in Arrow’s season where we first met Barry and were subsequently charmed by him. We were given hints to his characters lore (including characters such as the Reverse Flash) and were shown the accident that will ultimately give him his powers.
Not a bad way to start off.
The CGI for the super-speed looks better than you’d expect for a show on the CW and I can’t help but anticipate the first full trailer for the show after this tease. I’ve always loved The Flash and have been waiting for a live-action version to appear for quite a while. Read the official synopsis below and check out the teaser:
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.
