During the past week or so, fans near and far have been glued to their phone to see what new shows will be available for us to binge-watch sooner or later and which shows got the ax. Without a doubt, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions as most of us wait for the verdict. Today, lovers of the cable network Freeform (formally ABC Family) listened to the fate of the highly dominated channel with young adults.
Freeform’s President Tom Ascheim and executive Vice President of Programming and Development Karey Burke took to the stage to reveal what’s in the works for the growing channel. And, so you don’t have to search every inch of the internet for information, we’re breaking down what you missed:
NEW: Besties
From the co-creators of successful breakout show grown-ish, Kenya Barris and Ranada Shephard are hoping to continue their streak with Besties. A sitcom following two lifelong best friends who continue to grow together as they explore friendship, identity, race, and class. Together, they figure out who they are and who they want to be.
NEW: Pretty Little Liar’s spinoff – Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists
We all kind of saw this coming during the series finale of Pretty Little Liars, but now it’s legitimately happening. Marlene King is back with a 10-episode series order of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. King also brought back stars Sasha Pierterse who portrayed Alison DiLaurentis and Janel Parrish as Mona Vanderwaal. To keep more Disney in the family, Descendants’ star Sofia Carson will also have a role in the show along with newcomer Eli Brown, Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), and Hayley Erin. The show will take place in Beacon Heights and according to Freeform, “a seemingly perfect town, a group of three college friends struggle with the stress of being overachievers. In the aftermath of the town’s first murder, each Perfectionist hides behind a secret, a lie, and an alibi.”
NEW: 31 Nights of Halloween
No need to countdown until it’s 13 days away until Halloween. Now we can celebrate the whole month of October with 31 Nights of Halloween! Begin the holidays early!
NEW: Decorating Disney: Halloween
Always fancied seeing the behind-the-scenes when decorating the happiest place on earth? Same. Executive producers Ann Roberts, Simon Lythgoe and Jenny Daly (Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings) will show the Halloween transformation process of Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts!
NEW: Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Extravaganza
No huge details about what will actually be happening, but there will be a celebration for one of the most legendary Halloween movies of all time.
NEW: Two new movies will debut during 25 Days of Christmas
Stop the presses because this has to be one of the most important news out of the whole event. Life Size 2 will be part of this year’s holiday lineup. Tyra Banks is back to executive produce and reprise her role as Eve, a doll that comes to life. This time around, Eve is all grown up! Sorry, Lindsey Lohan fans, she’ll likely not be making an appearance, but at least we can follow Eve as she wakes up once again to help a young woman learn to live and love again all while experiencing the ups and downs of real life.

Sleeping Together is a holiday rom-com focused on two insomniac strangers who are, naturally, exhausted. After they meet, they discover they can fall asleep while sleeping next to each other. Odd, yes. But intrigued? Yes, again.
Oh, and Isaiah Mustafa is apparently the “Freeform Santa.”

After debuting earlier this year, Siren has been confirmed for a second season. Great news for fans who will be tuning into the season one finale on Thursday, May 24. They can now expect to see answers for any unexpected cliffhangers! Siren is a show about the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for their legendary tales and of once being home to mermaids. After Ryn (Eline Powell) mysteriously pops into town, she soon reveals the truth about the town. Spoiler alert: Yes, mermaids are real.
