Don’t we all wish we could just communally erase the existence of Finn Jones’s Iron Fist. The muppet of a character came this close to erasing any good will fans of the Netflix Marvel series had with both poor casting choices and a season that was, overall, not great. It doesn’t make us too excited for its second season, which Marvel just confirmed today at San Diego Comic Con.
It’s timely then that The Defenders is fast approaching, reminding us that, yes, while Iron Fist is still there being his dumb, appropriating, punchy kinda guy, we’re also going to get to chill with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil again, and that all in all is pretty great. The footage reveals the larger, overall plot to the season while also giving us a good taste of what it’s going to look like to see all of these ground level heroes get together to kick ass and fight crime.
Four heroes realize they need to work as a team to achieve their common goal: saving New York City.
The Defenders arrives on Netflix on August 18th, 2017.
