This weeks episode marks the last episode of the fall season, with episodes set to reappear in March of 2016. This leaves an ample amount of time to forget how over the top and distasteful this season has become.

This week’s episode was a little slower paced than usual, but there were the usual twists and turns that can shock the nation. There was the always constant familial vibe of an Empire episode, despite the betrayal that lurks in every corner.

Last episode we saw Hakeem get kidnapped by three members of a local gang hell bent on destroying Lyon Dynasty. But as soon as the kidnapping happened, it ended. While the abrupt ending of the kidnapping was quick and to the point, the aftermath was anything but.

The entire episode this week centered on the war between Lucious and Cookie. Lucious is out of prison, and the now warring companies are battling like school children . . . with music and great fashion.

Essentially, Empire has roots tied into family and music deeper than what most television series can even comprehend. Drama within the Lyon’s den has been its sole entertainment provider, but according to this season, and especially episode two, we see a shake up with who’s under enemy fire, and who have become allies.
