The place where everything began. Four years ago the cast of what they thought was an indie movie were exposed to pop culture frenzy at San Diego Comic-Con, and this year with the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II, the gang came back to talk about the vampire flick for one last time at Comic-Con. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, along with other castmembers Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, newcomer and love child of Bella and Edward, Mackenzie Foy was there too as well as author and producer Stephenie Meyer.
Before the panel started, Eddie Ibrahim, the director of programming at Comic-Con International, took on the stage to express his condolences about the Twilight fan who had been camping out that tragically died two days before the panel.
Moving on, the panel kicks off with an exclusive sneak peak to the first 7 minutes of Breaking Dawn Part II.
The first clip showed Bella waking up already as a vampire, her eyes red and senses heightened. As she is noticing her surroundings, Edward appears on the screen and she proceeds to hug him. Without even knowing her own strength, her hug almost crushes Edward and he suggests that they go hunting to calm down her thirst. When the scene follows both vampires running across the forest, you could see Bella noticing stuff she wouldn’t normally be able to without the super speed, in this clip as she was running she would notice little details like a spider on its web, etc. Upon finding her prey, a deer, Bella is about to attack it but is suddenly confused because she can smell the blood from a man climbing a mountain miles away. Bella runs to find the man and Edward goes after her. Edward stops Bella from attacking the man and she runs to find the deer, until a mountain lion wants to attack it first and Bella attacks the lion instead. After her first hunt, Bella goes with Edward to the Cullen house where Jacob meets them.
The second clip of the day was the Cullens trying to teach Bella how to act when she has to go meet her father Charlie for the first time since becoming a vampire. This clip was funny, showing how Bella adapts to being a vampire and never having the need to move, breathe or blink.
During the first panel questions, Kristen Stewart said she was happy to finally see Bella as a vampire, it had been something she waited to do for so long. She also shared that if she would come to Comic-Con she would dress up as the Evil Queen from Snow White. Robert Pattinson said that now with Breaking Dawn Part II, his character is usually surprised by Bella’s actions, but now more than ever because she’s a vampire. Rob’s advice from Edward in Breaking Dawn to Edward in Twilight would be “keep it in your pants!”. The half-vampire, half-human baby Renesmee portrayed by Mackenzie Foy, shared about her experiences on set with the rest of the cast and how much fun she had while filming. Taylor Lautner was relieved that Jacob was finally happy, no matter how awkward his relationship with Renesmee is, joking with Pattinson if their characters will ever be friends to which Pattinson replied “I sacrifice my daughter to him!“. Taylor and Kristen both shared that one of their favorite scenes to do is the one where Jacob tells Bella that he imprinted on Renesmee. All the rest of the actors part of the Cullen family shared their experiences with the cast, the fans and how much they would miss everything.

Overall, the panel was fun, you could see that after all the years of coming to Comic-Con the cast was way more relaxed than in previous years and this is just the beginning of the Twilight era coming to an end. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II will be in theaters on November 16, 2012.
