Nintendo kicked off Tuesday at E3 with their Digital Event, choosing to present a pre-recorded video, instead of doing a traditional live press conference. It was also broadcast on Nintendo’s official YouTube Channel. We’ll give you a quick rundown on all the new and exciting games and concepts that Nintendo revealed during the event.
Nintendo’s ‘Digital Event’ began on a funny note with stop-motion-animated Reggie Fils-Aime and other Nintendo characters in a little skit. After the skit, we see Nintendo President Iwata and Reggie Fils-Aime duking it out Super Smash Bro style in a live action fight scene. Thus, leading into the first game of the event: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros (Wii U/3DS)
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the new installment of Super Smash Bros. series. This time around Nintendo revealed that players can now import their own personalized Miis in the game and can choose from three distinct classes that fit your own play-style. The Wii U version will be released for the holiday season and 3DS version should be released on October 3rd.

Amiibo (Wii U)
Nintendo revealed a new concept that works in tandem with Super Smash Bros. called Amiibo, which is similar to Skylander. Figurines of Mario and other Nintendo characters have a chip at the bottom that connects to your Wii Gamepad. It unlocks new abilities for your characters in the game and is also able to save data on the chip too. This allows the player to have customizable Amiibos. Nintendo announced that Mario Kart 8 will have Amiibo support.

Yoshi’s Wooly World (Wii U)
Gathering inspiration from Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Takashi Tezuka from Nintendo and Etsunobu Ebisu of Good-Feel aspired to create a Yoshi game in a world of Yarn, and that’s what they did. In Yoshi’s Wooly World, the player is able to traverse each level in different ways that one can only do with yarn. Yoshi’s Wooly World is one of the most aesthetically pleasing games of the event so far. Nintendo stated that the game will be released in 2015, but no specific release date is known yet.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U)
Captain Toad finally stars in his own game on a Wii U spin-off of Super Mario World 3D called Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. This game is tailored for players who loved the level of design of Super Mario World 3D. Nintendo set release for Holiday 2014.
The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)
The reveal that everyone has wildly anticipated arrived. The Legend of Zelda is one of the most breathtaking games; seeing the peaceful countryside being destroyed by a laser blast from a robotic creature is magnifique! Nintendo announced that the game will be set in an open world because they want the player to be able to solve problems in a variety of ways that can only be accomplish in an open world game. The Legend of Zelda will be released in 2015.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (3DS)
Nintendo announced they would be releasing a two new Pokémon games on November 21, 2014. They are remakes of Ruby and Sapphire games and will have a new 3D look similar to Pokemon X and Y, which was released earlier this year.
Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Nintendo will be working with Tecmo Koei to bring The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors together. The player will play as Link and many other characters as well to hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies. The release date will be September 26 , 2014.
Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
The Bayonetta sequel has fially come from developer Platinum Games to bring back their violent fantasy masterpiece only to Wii U. Due to the first game being released in 2009 and skipped the Wii, Nintendo decided to port the first game to Wii U, where it will be available for free when you buy Bayonetta 2. They also announced that the player will be able to dress up in different costumes from other Nintendo games, such as Samus’ Armor from Metroid Prime and Link’s green garb and cap. The game will release in October 2014.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Wii U)
Nintendo announced another Kirby game for the Wii U Gamepad. It’s a neat game, where the player is able to use the stylus to create bridges and paths for the pint size little pink blob to traverse through. The game is due to release in 2015.
Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)
Nintendo announced that the sequel to the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles will be coming to Wii U in 2015. Monolith announced earlier this year that Xenoblade Chronicles X will be an open world game and will have an upgraded weapon system.
Mario Maker (Wii U)
Nintendo decides to finally give players the ability to create their own personal Super Mario levels from creating green pipes to placing Goombas throughout the level. Nintendo announced that this game will be released sometime in 2015.
Splatoon (Wii U)
Finally a new IP for Nintendo has come in the form of an FPS. In Splatoon, two teams of four are pitted against each other in a colorful and messy fight. The goal of the game is to cover most of the map with their own color ink before the clock ends. The catch is that the player takes control of these squid kids and they are able to morph into actual tiny squids to traverse in their own color ink faster. I personally feel that this game’s concept is probably one of the most creative and freshest concepts announced at E3 in long while. The game is due to release in 2015.
Lastly, Nintendo announced one new playable character in Super Smash Bros, which is Goddess Palutena. Now, you can fight like Goddess with vast array of different fighting abilities in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U.
