Lucy’s thoughts:
Just watch the video. Don’t get Pitch Slapped!
Gaby’s thoughts:
When I first watched the trailer for Pitch Perfect, my eyes were rolling for the entire two minutes. It looked like a mix of Glee (a show I used to like but now can’t stand) and Step Up (a movie with cool dance moves and zero substance). It seemed obvious that this wasn’t a movie I should see. But one of my close friends wanted to see it, and because I’m a nice person, I took her to an early screening a couple weeks ago.
I have never been this happy to admit when I am wrong until now. To just get to the point, Pitch Perfect is awesome! It’s the funniest movie I’ve seen since 21 Jump Street. It’s witty, smart and knows exactly what it is. It’s a movie about college a cappella competitors. Anna Kendrick is great as the lead, but the true star of the film is undoubtedly Rebel Wilson. She kills in every scene she’s in as Fat Amy. I really hope she becomes big in Hollywood because she is just too good at comedy. Seriously. See this movie for just Rebel alone! Also, Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins showed off their comedic chops as the commentators for the a cappella competitions. The writing for their two characters is ridiculous and exaggerated (as is the acting), and that’s exactly what makes them so funny.
I also loved the mash-ups created and used in the movie. They were way better than I expected. I’m actually dying to get the soundtrack because the songs were that original and catchy. (Also, heads-up! We’ll be giving away the Pitch Perfect soundtrack and an iPod Shuffle next week!)

Pitch Perfect hits select theaters September 28th. It plays in ALL theaters on October 5th!
UPDATE: The Pitch Perfect soundtrack doesn’t come out on September 25, but you can listen to it here now! Enjoy!
