I’ve been behind the times and only recently sat down to read the New York Times bestselling novel, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. With the highly-anticipated sequel, A Torch Against the Night, coming out in August, I figured it was about time I see what everyone has been raving about. If you’re like me and haven’t read it yet, this is what it’s like to read An Ember in the Ashes for the first time:
Nervous because there is SO much hype
The book starts with a bang (poor Laia!)
And then Elias’s graduation turns into this
And a whole lot of this

Heartbreak for the reader and the characters
When the book ends and you want to know where the rest is
An Ember in the Ashes definitely lived up to the high expectations I had and kept me on my toes the whole time. I definitely can’t wait to see where Sabaa Tahir takes this fantasy world in A Torch Against the Night.
