We decided to take a look back on all the great films we have seen and will probably be seeing getting recognition during awards season next year. Here is what we felt were the most deserving of our praise:
10. True Grit – This remake of the John Wayne classic western is unforgettable. Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon are great but Hailee Steinfeld steals the show.
9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 – Without a doubt, it’s the best Harry Potter movie to date. And it leaves us eagerly anticipating the final part.
8. The Fighter – It’s one of the biggest surprises of the year. We didn’t expect it to so good. Christian Bale is phenomenal!
7. The King’s Speech – Not as boring or snobbish as it seems. Colin Firth just blows you away with his amazing portrayal of the stammering King George VI.
6. Never Let Me Go – Heartbreaking, moving, thought-provoking. It’s a movie that deserves recognition.

5. 127 Hours – Danny Boyle creates a visually eye-popping film with an inspirational story that Franco portrays perfectly.
4. Inception – With amazing effects, a great cast and intricate plot, you’ve done it again, Christopher Nolan!
3. Toy Story 3 – One of our favorite childhood stories comes to an end. Words can’t explain how good this last chapter is. The animation & storyline are great. It’s almost impossible to at least not shed one tear at the end.
2. Black Swan – It’s one of the most disarming psychological thrillers ever made. The impeccable acting by Natalie Portman makes her OWN the best actress category.

1. The Social Network – The script alone blew us away. The actual movie? It was just beyond amazing. David Fincher directs the perfect film with a perfect script and perfect actors. Finally, here is a film worthy of defining our generation.
