Lex always felt like the black sheep at home. She grew up with three brothers and a protective father who didn’t always know how to show affection to his daughter. She also didn’t have the drive to continue onto higher education despite her brother’s influences. Lex decided that the next time she saw her father, she would confront him about quitting college and working full-time. This was all before Lex got a necklace from her long lost uncle that started her journey into the unknown.
Lex was literally dragged into this new world that had apparently been a part of her since she was born. Her father decided that the only way to protect Lex was to stop her from knowing the full truth. He also made promises that wouldn’t allow him to tell Lex everything she deserved to know. So Lex lived in a bubble filled with lies and deception, however the strength in her uncle’s necklace was able to tear through it.
Truths unveil themselves as Lex tries to figure out how to survive. After a few days of craziness she is left alone with new truths. She is left in limbo between the two worlds she belongs to. Does she fight and save people who are supposed to have a place in her heart even though she has never met them, or does she return to her bubble of safety? Is that even an option at this point, or has she gone too far already? Lex needs to ask herself if the decision she will make has real benefits that could outweigh the danger and negative consequences.
I would recommend this story to anyone who likes to witness different worlds coming together.
