TV Review: Nashville 3×4 – “I Feel Sorry for Me”

Rayna is playing hardball when it comes to Highway 65—taking no prisoners. Rayna and Jeff are going after a new breaking artist called Sadie Stone. Just when Jeff had Sadie ready to sign with Edgehill, Rayna pulled her over to Highway 65.

What goes around comes around, because that’s exactly what Jeff had done to Rayna a while back with Will.

Rayna’s feeling pretty good about herself, but she should keep her eyes open because Jeff already has a counterattack planned. Rayna’s little girls, Maddie and Daphne, are uber talented, music being their biggest passion. Their mother has reservations about joining the music business at a young age, but you bet that Jeff is already looking into how to sign them with only one parent’s consent (Teddy).

Oh, but Jeff better watch out because you should always fear a mama bear, especially when she’s the queen of country.

Meanwhile, Zoey is having serious insecurity issues. It’s to the point where she accuses Scarlett of having a secret affair with Gunnar. In reality, they were both planning Zoey’s going away party—Zoey got slapped in the face. She invites Scarlett to sing with her, but Scarlett has a panic attack. It’s sad to see Scarlett still so traumatized from her breakdown on tour, though granted it was extremely awful. I think the only person able to give her the peace to perform again could be Gunnar. I’m hoping that sometime during this season she overcomes her paralyzing fears and returns to performing! If you guys haven’t listened to the Nashville soundtrack, you should! Claire Bowen (Scarlett) is extremely talented!

On the road, Deacon and his new lady friend are getting closer as he’s knocking down some of the walls of his heart. I’m not a total fan of hers, but I do appreciate the fact that Deacon is smiling again and even laughing! She drinks and has this whole wild child vibe going on, so I just wonder if she has the ability to knock Deacon off his sober wagon, because that’s a no-no after he’s gotten so close with Maddie.

Juliette, on the other hand, is having a harder time being open with her heart. The poor girl can never catch a break.

Avery is so extremely drunk in pain that he gets himself arrested after he passes out in a random car on someone’s front yard. Yeah—it was that bad. If you were to look up the definition of heartbroken, Avery’s face would pop up. He’s just falling apart at the seams.

Juliette has finally told her manager, Glenn, that she’s pregnant and she’s planning on placing the baby up for adoption—without telling Avery about it. Glenn tries to convince Avery to speak with Juliet and almost spills the beans on Juliet’s bun in the oven. When Avery gets locked up in jail, Juliette is the only one who shows up to bail Avery out. She tries to tell him about the baby, but he’s just in such agony and heartbreak that he completely pushes her away before she can get a word in.

When are these two going to get back together already?! I can’t stand it!

Ugh! Avery needs to know before things get worse. But, it’s Nashville guys, so of course it will!

Next week’s episode could contain the big baby news reveal, and I can’t wait to see the look on Avery’s precious face! Do you think that Avery is being too hard on Juliette? Doesn’t their love deserve a second chance?

Will Juliette be the one to tell Avery, or could he find out from someone else?!

Also, how much of a scumbag is Jeff? Would Teddy even agree to have his daughters signed on to a record label at such a young age?

Comment below on your guesses for next week’s episode!

Things are never dull in Nashville!
