Winter is approaching on Earth, and the 100 are trying their best to prepare. Now that they have established a stable connection with the ark each camper takes turns as they get some allotted time to speak with loved ones. The chancellor tells Clarke about a bunker that probably still contains supplies.
As one of the campers, Dax, goes to speak with his mother, the commanding officer of the ark (who put Bellamy up to kill the Chancellor) steps in and tells him that if he kills Bellamy he guarantees Dax’s mother a spot on the first drop pod to earth.
The deal is sealed.
Clarke and Bellamy leave together to find the bunker as she leaves Raven in charge of Finn, who needs all the rest he can get. You can see in Finn’s eyes the concern that he has that she’s leaving alone with Bellamy and that he’s unable to accompany her. Raven sees it too but chooses to ignore the fact that Finn no longer wants her, as evident as it is by the tension in that small tent.
This episode truly made my disappointment in Raven grow. Clarke has handled this whole uncomfortable situation quite well so to speak. Yet, Raven has done otherwise. She very well knows that Finn isn’t feeling the same way about her. Yet, she used her body and played the sex card to try to keep him. For someone who I thought was strong, I didn’t think she would sell herself so short, giving herself up like that just to try to win his affections over from Clarke. When Finn tries to discuss with Raven everything that happened with Clarke, she simply pushes it all to the side as long as he “still loves” her. Looking at all that Raven has done on the ark, all the skills she possesses, I thought she would have a lot more self-worth. Yet, we see she’s a girl whose entire world is taken up in big portion by a boy. Finn’s all she’s ever had, her family never appreciated her and suddenly the only person who found her important has thrown her to trash after just 10 days. Raven, we feel for ya! But, there’s a better way to handle this- stay classy.

Outside of their love tent, the rest of the campers are running wild and free, as they’ve gotten ahold of some very trippy nuts. In this show there isn’t much time for laughs; most of the time it’s about survival, love triangles and hard choices. However, I most definitely appreciated the moments of comedy provided by Monty and Jasper, as they experienced good and bad trips on these hallucinogenic nuts. Their high five is the cutest.

Octavia uses this opportunity to sneak in to see the grounder. She slips his guard some nuts, and it’s not long before she’s able to be with her lover boy once again.
We have some groundbreaking news, guys. His name is Lincoln. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we finally have a name for the grounder! The chemistry that Octavia and Lincoln have is fierce. They’re probably vying for the role of my new favorite couple on the show. Lincoln tells her something that will probably mark the rest of the episodes that follow. He is the enemy. Yet, this doesn’t stop him from getting a kiss from Octavia. Oh, Lincoln, you sneaky dog you!

As their lips part, he does too, dressed undercover he tries to escape the camp. He doesn’t go unseen as Finn crosses his path but lets him go. This move by Finn was probably the most admirable thing he’s done in a while. It could almost redeem him in our eyes after being a sleaze bag in the ladies department. It will take a bit more than that to get in our good graces, Finn!
Out in the bunker, Bellamy and Clarke have hit the jackpot as the place is filled with weapons and ammunition. Clarke notices that Bellamy is planning to run as he’s on the outs with Octavia and doesn’t want to deal with the aftermath of having tried to kill the Chancellor. They’ve both eaten the nuts and begin to trip out over the guilt they each carry. Clarke is confronted by her subconscious that takes the shape of her dad, who keeps telling her to forgive her mother. Clarke really wants to but there’s a part of her that doesn’t seem she will be able to. Bellamy is having his own inner conflict that takes the form of Jaha. We always see Bellamy pushing forward, pushing all the things he’s done to the side and putting on the strong head leader front. But this trip really exposed his vulnerability and the condemnation he feels for all he’s done. It was a creative way to do this through the trippy nuts that knocked down all his emotional walls and everything he’s been keeping in.
All along, Dax has been watching Bellamy and he jumps in at his weakest point to attempt his murder. Luckily, Clarke was able to jump in and save the day just at the right moment. It was once again a choice of survival and Dax being outnumbered ended up dead. A death in self-defense seems less harmful than all the others. This death brought Clarke and Bellamy together, they have more in common than they ever thought. A strong bond of trust is forming between them and could it possibly grow into feelings? I’m kind of digging that option.
Clarke is able to convince Bellamy to speak with Chancellor Jaha and informs him that it was the commanding officer that sent the hit on him; in exchange Bellamy has been pardoned from all his crimes. That should give Bellamy a bit of peace.
The commanding officer is arrested, and Diana puts him to rest in peace. We knew she couldn’t be trusted, as she stages the officer’s death as a suicide. It was Diana who was orchestrated the killing of Chancellor Jaha, and we can only imagine what other backup schemes she has up her sleeve. With one look from her cold blue eyes, her minions execute any order she gives. She doesn’t blink at the sight of a cold murder and so this chick is pretty heavy on the evil side.
We can only assume that things won’t be looking good for Jaha in the near future.
Next week, we get to meet the rest of the grounders! And yes, there’s a female grounder too!
Will the 100 be able to negotiate a peace treaty or will their armed forces incite them to act prematurely?
Will Finn throw a jealous fit as he sees Clarke relying on Bellamy while he’s stuck with Raven?
Who else is hoping for some more Lincoln and Octavia scenes?!
