So we’ve seen Noah fall in love and even Beth go head over heels over some dude. Now, it’s Isaiah’s turn in Katie McGarry’s latest novel, Crash Into You.
Isaiah is on the cusp of aging out of the system. His past with foster care isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, and it doesn’t help that his mother, who was released from prison, wants to reconnect with him. But Isaiah is making the most of life, secretly living with his best friend, Noah, and trying to make his way in the world as a car virtuoso.
In comes Rachel, a girl from a wealthy and very overprotective family, who doesn’t feel comfortable sharing her true self with anyone. Until she meets Isaiah after he saves her from a tricky drag racing situation. Rachel loves cars as much as Isaiah does and finds peace when she’s behind the wheel. With that in common, Isaiah and Rachel find themselves drawn to each other. Despite their different backgrounds and a looming threat, can they learn to love and trust each other?

Just like the past two novels, this story brings together two opposites. In this case, they aren’t opposites in personality, but mostly in status. If you’ve been following the series, you know that Isaiah was recently burnt by Beth, and he’s having a hard time getting over her. So he’s surprised by how taken he is with Rachel. As for Rachel, she’s happy to have Isaiah’s attention but is both excited and afraid of what this could lead to.
The Pushing the Limits series is probably one of the contemporary YA romances that I would recommend to anyone who loves love, drama and intense characters. Usually, I’m harsh judge when it comes to this particular genre, but Crash Into You and its predecessors have definitely entertained me. I can’t help but look forward to the next PTL character to find love.
