Two episodes to go before this thrilling summer series’ big finale and heroes, villains and important answers have finally emerged.
For starters, viewers are actually exposed to the secrets behind the mini dome. Remember in the previous episode how when the Pink Stars Group (the name I christened the group of teens who all experienced seizures because of the dome and together form some sort of key to the mini dome) simultaneously touched the mini dome and apparently opened a hologram image of the universe? Well, this episode ventures into that and so much more.
The real highlight of this episode, though, was that it revealed the true villain that Chester’s Mills should be adhering to. Big Jim. Throughout the whole series, we see Big Jim being the man with the plan. The guy who jumps in and saves the day. Even though everyone is quite aware that Big Jim is up to his own devices, none would’ve thought he would be planning on total domination of the town in such a sinister way.
More unexpected than ever, the Pink Stars group find out that they are the ones responsible for taking Big Jim out when the mini dome gives them a very vivid illusion.

Now I think that the dome has chosen these four teens as its protectors and Barbie somehow as its leader or “monarch”. And since Big Jim has labeled Barbie as a possible assailant who must be detained whatever the cost, the dome views Big Jim as a threat that must be eliminated – whatever the cost.
As the curtains prepare to close on this attention-grabbing, highly entertaining summer series, one can only imagine what the directors of Under the Dome will choose as a fitting season finale.
