The lines are being drawn and boiling points are being reached on the latest episode of Breaking Bad. Viewers are treated to another helping of Todd as he calls to inform Walt of what had happened with the old meth crew. He then turns and does a boneheaded move by talking about his train heist with his uncle and his uncle’s friend. Both of these men don’t seem to be the most trustworthy of people so Todd’s big mouth is most likely going to bite him in the butt.
At the end of the last episode Hank had entered Jesse’s interrogation room with the hopes that Jesse would help him take Walt down. To his disappointment, he finds in this episode that Jesse is unwilling to help him in any way, even after Hank outed him as Heisenberg’s accomplice and offered him full immunity. Saul shows up and chases Hank away with his legal jargon. He chastises Jesse for a bit before calling Walt to let him know that he’d found Jesse.
While Saul is with Jesse, Walt’s at home trying to hide a wound a received from Hank with some of Skyler’s make-up. During this, Walt Jr. gets a call from Marie asking him to come over because she needed help with something. Walt sees through this ruse and knows that the real reason Marie called was to get Walt Jr. away from him and possibly inform Walt Jr. of his father’s indiscretions. Walt quickly derails his son by informing him that his cancer is back thereby making sure Walt Jr. wouldn’t leave his side to go to Marie’s house.
Marie, Hank, Skyler and Walt later go out to eat and it is as uncomfortable and tense as one would imagine. They made history by having most awkward dinner to have ever gone down in a Mexican restaurant. The cherry on top would’ve been if they had been served by that annoying waiter from Office Space . Hank and Marie are tense because Hank still hasn’t told the DEA about Walt. Skyler and Walt are angry because the other two refuse to leave the children out of this. They still don’t admit to anything Hank’s Heisenberg discovery. After a terse hissing contest between the four of them, Skyler and Walt finally had enough and leave the restaurant but not before sliding a tape to Hank.
Earlier in the episode, Walt sat down and began to give a confession similar to the one he gave in the first season of the series as Hank and Marie view the tape we see that it is an entirely different type of confession. Walt places all the blame on Hank, he makes it out to seem that Hank is the real Heisenberg and Walt was forced to follow along and be the chemist. The tape is pure blackmail and pretty damning. Should Hank make a move against Walt this tape would no doubt show up on the DEA’s doorstep
The three amigos (Walt, Jesse and Saul) meet up in the desert to discuss Jesse’s recent run-in with Hank. Jesse is adamant that Hank has not told the DEA of his suspicions. Walt raises the suggestion of Jesse getting out of town and changing his identity to stop Hank from harassing him. Jesse sees through Walt’s attempted manipulation and calls him out on it. He tells Walt that he knows he had something to do with Mike’s death. Jesse then does another of his Jesse-cries and Walt comforts him with a hug.
Jesse hides out in Saul’s office while Saul makes a call to a man who will transport Jesse out of New Mexico and will give him a brand new identity. While at the pick-up spot, Jesse pats his pockets and pulls out a pack of cigarettes. He stares at the cigarettes for a long time and is remembered of the ricin cigarette that used to be in his possession. He hightails it back to Saul’s office where he confronts Saul on the disappearance of the cigarette. After getting roughed up by Jesse and his gun, Saul admits that he took the cigarette from Jesse under Walt’s orders.
Saul calls Walt to warn him of Jesse’s rampage. The episode ends with Walt hiding out at the car wash, under the impression Jesse would stop there but instead, Jesse goes to Walt’s home with a can of gasoline and starts spilling gasoline all over the place. He, most likely, has every intention on setting Walt’s home ablaze.
