Poor Brett. He’s going to feel like one less lonely bro now that Winston was evicted on Big Brother 20. The dynamic (but not-so-strategic) duo were instant bros the minute they locked eyes during the first week of the season. But, unfortunately for them, having two of the most physically fit men team up in an unshakable partnership created too much of a threat to ignore. The fact they survived together until the third week was a miracle unto itself.
Though, between the two options, the Level 6 alliance made the better choice of whom to save. While Winston’s chances of winning Big Brother 20 were slim, he didn’t have a long shelf life. During his time in the house, he acted irrationally and got swept up in the emotional pull; none of the houseguests could trust or depend on him for future security. Seriously! What kind of houseguest tells the HOH that they’re the target and want to come after them BEFORE the POV is used? Winston was a bad Big Brother player.
Brett on the other hand, while not a great player, was a better option. He at least had a calm head in making decisions and could game talk with the other houseguests before making a decision. Scottie, for a moment, considered nominating Kaitlyn because of Brett’s campaigning; he does have some kind of power if he doesn’t let his ego get the better of him. But, unfortunately, both Winston and Brett will lose Big Brother 20 because of their ego.
Scottie’s reign as Head of Household might be his undoing. Winning a knowledge competition gave him some leeway to avoid being labeled as a challenge threat, since those types of games focus on memory, but him winning the Power of Veto as well served him no favors. He didn’t need to win the powers since his strategy of staying behind-the-scenes worked well for him before he got exposed. Now the entire house believes him to be a manipulative mastermind, and him targeting the bros drew a line with the Level 6 alliance. Showing his challenge prowess was not the smartest move he made.
The Level 6 alliance members are playing the better game as compared to the FOUTTE alliance. Rockstar isn’t talking to anyone on the other side, Faysal barely understands the game, Kaitlyn is a mess, Scottie created enemies with the bros, Hayleigh is getting the ire from her own alliance, and Bayleigh has to start from ground zero after Swaggy C’s eviction. FOUTTE is having a hard time keeping afloat. With Scottie’s HOH week, they got lucky in getting rid of Winston, but they need to keep up the momentum or they’re going to fall back into bad habits.
In regards to Level 6, they’re not the best gameplayers, but their odds of making it to the jury increased significantly after they didn’t turn on each other during Scottie’s HOH reign. Rachel is likable in the house, Jaycee’s under the radar game helps her connect with the others, Angela is a non-entity, and Tyler is controlling the house. Brett, while surviving the vote, is the biggest target on their side, while JC and Sam aren’t targets at all. Hopefully, when Big Brother 20 enters the second phase of the season, these players let out their competitive capabilities to fully play the game.
Speaking of Tyler, the third week exposed Tyler’s flaw in the game; that flaw is Kaitlyn. He played too hard during the second week to manipulate and control Kaitlyn’s HOH to the point that Kaitlyn is now dependent on Tyler’s attention. He shouldn’t have pushed too hard in the second week to lie and deceive her at every opportunity; the cracks started to form and she began to doubt him.
The worst part was that she tried to blackmail him into giving her attention in favor of not sharing information he told her. Tyler hoped that Kaitlyn would be his “GOAT” (i.e. the person to bring to the end who will get no jury votes) and for the most part, she is filling that role. However, Kaitlyn is too much of a wildcard. Everyone has started to talk about Tyler – Kaitlyn is just adding more fuel to the fire.

Who else was happy that Bayleigh won the power app? Based on the three options that were selected so far this season, she chose the best power. Don’t get me wrong, Sam’s power for an extra life is amazing and extremely helpful; however, it’s a guarantee to come back and it’s forced into power after the fourth week. Bayleigh at least gets control of the nominations if she worries her name will be going up. That’s a huge power to have around! The public made a great move since Bayleigh will use it to shake up the house.
Hayleigh getting the least trending vote wasn’t surprising, especially since she hasn’t been the biggest votes and she’s playing a quiet game. Still, HOW DID ANGELA NOT GET IT?! She’s barely even in the episodes.
Winston’s eviction caused the third blindside of the summer, and we are extremely thankful for these Big Brother 20 houseguests. After Steve’s surprise eviction and Swaggy’s backdoor nomination, the first few weeks is giving us the true essence of a Big Brother competition. Winston’s vote was close, and even he thought he had the votes to stick around. (Though, we’re talking about Winston here. He never truly had a grasp on the game.) The vote results seemed obvious that the Level 6 alliance was going to vote out Winston over Brett, but that blindside looks as if it will cause another week of arguments. Shame that Winston won’t be coming back in; he looked ready to destroy his (former) friends and alliances over the vote.
The third week of Big Brother 20 didn’t have any big surprises, but it did show the cracks in a few players’ games. Tyler wasn’t the all-controlling master he presented himself to be, the bros had nowhere to go, Rockstar dug herself into a hole, and Scottie drew his line in the sand. The houseguests played harder than before and they delivered on another blindside vote. Plus, with the fire Rockstar was throwing at Brett after the vote, we better be prepared for another exciting week to come.
