After the hurricane of emotions Dean brought to paradise in episode three, the waters seemed to calm down a little. That is, until two new ladies arrive to Paradise bringing drama of their own.
Sarah Vendal (Bachelor 21) arrives and causes a new hurricane of emotions, but this time between Adam and Raven. Sarah and Adam go on a date and immediately hit it off. I feel bad for Raven since her and Adam seemed good together, but this is Paradise and things change very quickly.
Take Lacey for example. After many episodes of not making any connections, she finally gets a happy ending and takes Diggy on a date. However, instead of a one-on-one, they get a two-on-one, but the good kind. They were accompanied by Jorge as he took them to the “most romantic place” in Mexico. This included riding horses on a secret beach, a romantic picnic and, of course, Jorge’s company. This was a date I would definitely be down with.
But alas, no one stays happy in Paradise, especially when Dominique Alexis (Bachelor 21) arrives and she has her sights on Diggy. Poor Lacey’s happiness was deflated within seconds of returning from her date. On Dom and Diggy’s date, he told her that he and Lacey were just on different wavelengths, putting poor Lacey back in the friend zone with no chance of finding love in Paradise.
Someone who didn’t find love was Danielle M. She ultimately decided to leave after realizing that she would not find love. Earlier in the day, Danielle and Wells had a cute moment where they promised they would get together if they were both single five years from now. But why not start now?! Thankfully, before Danielle left, Wells planted a kiss on her and it made hearts flutter across Bachelor Nation. So here’s to Dani and Wells, and to them finding love in Nashville once Wells is done slinging drinks in Mexico.
During the last hour of Paradise, Chris Harrison sits down with DeMario to discuss the scandal one-on-one. Chris announced that Corinne will give her side of the story next week. While the scandal has been dragged out these last few months, DeMario’s interview gave some good insight into what he had to go through.
DeMario recapped the night leading up to the shutdown and his conversation with his producer immediately after. During the premiere, I saw nothing wrong with Corinne and DeMario’s interactions, at least from what they showed. After hearing DeMario’s tearful recollection, you can tell that this unfortunate situation seriously affected him.
As someone who was never a fan of him on Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette, DeMario did not deserve what happened to him, especially the slander from news outlets. It seemed that he and Corinne are on good terms, but it’ll be interesting to hear her side of the story and how the scandal affected her next week.
