After three episodes, we finally get the first rose ceremony and it’s kind of anticlimactic. All the guys are freaking because most of them knew who was giving them a rose during the first go of Bachelor in Paradise. However, since the two-week hiatus, things changed for a lot of people.
Prior to the ceremony, Adam Gottschalk (Bachelorette 13) comes in as fresh meat for the girls and Kristina is all about him. I’m all for this because Dean has been distant from Kristina and she needs to move into calmer waters. Adam, however, ends up asking Raven on the date, leaving Kristina to refocus on her relationship with Dean.
It’s definitely trouble in paradise for Kristina and Dean, especially after he tells her they might have moved too fast from the start. This has her reconsidering who to give her rose to for it not to be wasted. My pick would be to give it to Vinny because he is a genuinely sweet guy that hasn’t had the best of luck in Paradise. But no one listens to me.
Finally, during the ceremony, the eight girls choose out of the twelve guys and Vinny, Alex, Nick, and Iggy are sent home. It was sad to see Vinny leave because he’s always been a favorite of mine and I think Kristina was not smart in choosing Dean and giving him a second chance. It seems he is just playing the game and once fresh meat arrives he’ll kick poor Kristina to the curb and she is too sweet for that nonsense.
Sadly, that’s exactly what happened when Danielle Lombard (Bachelor 21) entered Paradise. Seriously if there wasn’t a floor to catch the guys’ jaws, they would have come detached when she walked onto the beach. DLO’s arrival definitely stirs the waters of Paradise. Going between her choices of Ben and Dean, DLO ultimately chooses Dean, the guy who seemingly has something with someone else.
Dean is being such a player and it’s kind of annoying how he tries to make Kristina feel better after he agrees to go out with DLO. But in actuality, he makes the situation worse. Even after his date, Dean tries to smooth out the situation with Kristina and she’s giving into it. You can tell he is definitely feeling guilty for going on the date, especially after seeing how upset it made Kristina.
But once things are finally smoothed out and it seems he’s focusing his energy solely on Kristina, Dean pulls a power move while everyone is roasting marshmallows by a fire and brings DLO a half birthday cake for her 28.5 birthday. Dean was legit cuddling with Kristina .5 seconds before turning around and presenting DLO with the cake. It’s annoying to watch this former fan-favorite be such a player and see poor Kristina get her heart crushed in front of everyone.
Episode three definitely moved slower than the previous ones since this was the first episode that was solely focused on Paradise without any drama from the hiatus. But now, the drama with Dean is aging everyone and hopefully, karma will come and get him soon because if he doesn’t get his priorities straight, the next Cold War could start up in Paradise.
