This week’s episode of Midnight, Texas ramps up the drama between daddy issues and hot blondes that – literally – eat your heart out.
“Sexy Beast” (one of the greatest episode titles ever) starts off with a rich kid on the run from his older sister after stealing and selling his dad’s Rolex. Being on the run from one woman only leads him to another blonde bombshell on the side of the road. Only this woman isn’t as understanding as his sister and she lures him into his car and totally massacres him right out side of Midnight.
Meanwhile, there’s even more drama than a succubus can handle in the small town. Manfred is still fooling around with Creek who, in this episode, seems to be coming out of her skin a bit more and was showing a more sassy side when it came to her ‘”fun” relationship with Manfred. In fact, it doesn’t really feel like she actually likes Manfred romantically this week, even though it’s clear that he’s totally smitten with her.
Over at Fiji’s, she’s getting some sage advice from Olivia about why she shouldn’t wear peasant skirts and sweaters on her dinner date that night with Bobo, so she lends her a cute black dress and heels for the big night.
Of course, Bobo doesn’t show up because the white supremacist (the one his now dead girlfriend Audrey was associated with) trashed his house. This doesn’t bode well for the Bobo and Fiji ship, at least in that moment, but when the whole gang goes to the cartoon saloon (yes that’s the name, and no, there were no cartoons painted on the walls like in the books) she happens to run into Bobo, who was doing exactly what Fiji said not to do – go and beat up the white supremacist gang by himself.
Right before Bobo kills a man with a broken pool cue, Fiji stops him and tells him that they have to leave pronto. Thinking that this will be the end of Bobo-Fiji, we were pleasantly surprised at the end of the episode – after Manfred fries the succubus – that the two finally have their big moment and big kiss.
The other major pairing that this episode focused on was Olivia and Lemuel, one of the more interesting pairings in Midnight. We never really knew what exactly Olivia does for a living before this episode, but it was exactly what we expected (what else would she be doing with all those guns and wigs?). But what was more revealing was the messed-up relationship between her and her family that she explains to the man who was spying on her for her father.
And Olivia is not happy, but at least she has Lemuel to leach all that bad energy away.
