In the lead up to the PAX East weekend, Telltale Games has revealed new information on their next upcoming title-Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. New screenshots reveal the who’s who of the cast; and it likely won’t come as a surprise. GotG Telltale will feature the same five members as the films and current run of Guardians comics: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and of course, Groot.
While this is the familiar cast of the hit film, Marvel Entertainment has pointed out with the untitled Spider-Man PS4 game, the goal is not to integrate the MCU elements into video games. Given that the screenshots feature more comic book leaning costumes, I’d wager this is the same with the Telltale game as well.
The main cast that will voice the Guardians were also confirmed. Telltale fans will recognize some of the cast members, such as Scott Porter, who will fill the boots of Star-Lord. Industry giant Nolan North will also return to the role of Rocket Raccoon, a character he has voiced for other Marvel video games.
Attendees of PAX East will get the first preview of the game during Telltale’s panel on March 10th, which will look at some further details regarding the game’s development. That panel will be live streamed. Meanwhile, GotG Telltale will be played live the following week at SXSW, in a session that the audience will be able to influence using a new feature Telltale has built into more recent titles like Batman: The Telltale Series.
Take a look below at the full press release, including the cast list. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Episode 1 is set for a Spring release, with four more episodes to follow.
