David Cage of Quantic Dream had a very special announcement to close out Sony’s presentation at Paris Games Week. He revealed what he and his team have been working on for the last 2 years, a game which draws inspiration from their previously released tech demo called ‘Kara.‘ The new game, Detroit: Become Human, centers around Kara’s newfound sentience and search for answers about the world that she was thrust into. The game is set in a futurist version of the Michigan city where its inhabitants have grown frustrated and angry by the presence of their android servant counterparts. Kara is played by actress Valorie Curry, reprising her role from Quantic Dream’s earlier tech demo.
The trailer closes with a message indicating that the entirety of the footage was captured in engine, which should come as no surprise to those who have encountered the breathtaking fidelity of Quantic Dream’s other works. Detroit: Become Human is the studios newest project after Beyond: Two Souls which released in 2013 on the PlayStation 3. The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 and as of yet has no official release window. Check it out below!
