Probably one of most anticipated turn-based strategy games this year is Shogun 2 Total War. Creative Assembly has released their latest Total War game today. Total War Shogun 2 takes place in 16th century feudal Japan. Japan was in a civil war between warring clans who wanted to be Shogun of Japan. In the game, you get the chance to choose between ten clans. Each of the clans have different perks for example, The Chosokabe clan produces superior bowmen, while the Takeda produces superior calvary. So, each clan has its upsides and downsides, which makes the game different, and Ai is hopefully much better than before. Multiplayer is going to be a big improvement from previous games. They added a way to customize your general and army by changing the banners and colours. They also added a persistency element in the online part. I feel it will attract more people to the multiplayer. The MSRP is $49.99 and available only on PC. For more information about Total War: Shogun 2, visit TotalWar.com
Ubisoft is coming out with a new game called Rocksmith. This game is very unique in the music genre because instead of using a fake guitar (that you’d have to pay another $100 dollars for) you get to use your real guitar. You play along to favorite songs from artists and bands, such as David Bowie, Nirvana, Black keys, and The Rolling Stones. A very interesting idea for music lovers or for people to learn how to use a real guitar; hopefully, this fun concept goes through and delivers an awesome product. The game will come out Quarter 4 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 platforms. For more information about this game, read the full press release at Joystiq.com.
