Cheers to the glorious gaming rumor mill – you’ve proven yourself right yet again. A sequel to Life is Strange, the time-jumping episodic gaming hit, has been confirmed to be in the development stage. And what makes this more surprising (and awesome!) is that the sequel has been in planning for a while now.
The developers of the game, DONTNOD Entertainment, quietly greenlit the sequel after the hard copy release of the first season last year. The official reveal was made by the project directors and producers from Life is Strange in a YouTube video (and blog post) after the game had sold 3 million copies.
Life is Strange is a 5-part episodic adventure focusing on the adventure of best friends Max Caulfield and Chloe Price. After Max witnesses Chloe being shot by a fellow student, Max discovers she has the power to manipulate and travel back in time to change the series of events. The first season is emotionally-gripping, filled with complex characters, and has hooked the fandom since with countless artwork, fanfiction and cosplays being created by the fans.
Even since its 2015 release, the rumor mill has been active with stories (or lots of wishing) about a potential sequel to the series. While the rumors persisted, nothing had been confirmed up until this point. There are currently no details released about the upcoming sequel or if it will be a continuation from the original game.
