Need something to look forward to in 2013? No fear, The Strokes have that covered…
The Strokes are releasing their fifth studio album this year!
I’ll just give you a few seconds to read that again and indulge in the goodness of this news.
Although there were no talks of a tour, this album is going to be coming out late 2013. So even though we have to toughen it out for a bit longer, we still have something to look forward to!
The news of the new album release was released via Seattle radio station 107.7, “The End.” They said that they have heard two of the songs of the record and said that “one of the songs were more synth- driven track, with [All the Time] packing a classic Strokes sound.”
Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr., who has been found to be successful outside of the band, said to have described the new material as “incredible.”
The Strokes are mostly known for their lo-fi garage rock sound; Albert Hammond Jr’s father added that there isn’t much of a change from the classic Strokes sound. “I don’t think they’ll go in a wildly different direction,” he explained. “Obviously the songs will be different, but I think The Strokes are The Strokes; they always will be The Strokes.”
