When emo icons American Football reunited in 2014, their itenerary included a handful of concert dates and a reissue of their only album, 1999’s American Football. New music didn’t seem to be on the radar for the trio, but that all changed with today’s announcement of the band’s first album in 17 years.
Like the debut, the new album is also titled American Football and its cover features what we are to assume is the interior of the house featured on the cover of the first album. American Football will be released on October 21 on Polyvinyl Records. The album will be released on LP, CD, cassette tape and digital and is available for pre-order in all of those formats from the label’s website.
The band also released a song from the record, “I’ve Been Lost for So Long”, which is available for streaming below.
