Music News: Panic! at the Disco Pops Bottles All Over in “Victorious”

panic-at-the-disco-946-2015It seems as though pop rock outfit Panic! at the Disco is moving full steam ahead in anticipation of their fifth studio album Death of a Bachelor. With “Victorious,” the band has released their second video within a month. This second single off of Death of a Bachelor is about the power of passion–even if you don’t necessarily have the skill, spirit and drive might be enough to push you to success. As lead singer/multi-instrumentalist (and now, sole band member) Brendon Urie explained on the band’s tumblr: “That’s truly victorious. Giving it your all when it’s all you have. Giving ‘em hell to get a taste of heaven.” This is a reassuring attitude in the face of Urie being the last standing Panic! member–here’s to hoping that his passion for music carries Panic! at the Disco on.

Each video for the Death of a Bachelor singles has been different, in both story and tone, and “Victorious” follows suit. It’s the only one grounded in reality–meaning there are no demons or a quest through what looks like Bowser’s castle. Since models don’t usually show up, handing you a giant check and popping champagne bottles just for squashing the urge to call your ex, I wouldn’t say it’s not without its fantasy elements.

So. Much. Champagne. In the best way possible, of course. “Victorious” has a fun video that gets across the essence of the song–a few setbacks don’t mean you’re not going to end up a winner.
