The organizers of RiotFest have announced the lineups for their Denver, Chicago and Toronto festivals scheduled for later this year.
In addition to big names such as Modest Mouse (Denver and Chicago), No Doubt (Denver and Chicago) and Wu Tang Clan (Toronto), the lineups also include several recently reunited bands (Drive Like Jehu, The Movielife, Swervedriver, Desaparecidos, American Nightmare/Give Up the Ghost, Babes in Toyland, Alexisonfire, Faith No More) and a handful of surprise performers (The Dead Milkmen, Millencolin, Merle Haggard).
The Academy Is…, who disbanded in 2010, will reunite at the Chicago RiotFest to perform their 2005 album Almost Here in its entirety. On their Facebook, the band signified that this would be a one-off “farewell” performance. Also performing full albums are Rancid (playing …And Out Come the Wolves at all three festivals), Snoop Dogg (Doggystyle at Chicago and Denver) and Ice Cube (performing NWA’s Straight Outta Compton in Chicago and Denver).
Chicago RiotFest will be held at Douglas Park on September 11-13. Denver RiotFest will be held at the National Western Complex on August 28-30. Toronto RiotFest will be held at Downsview Park on September 19 and 20. Tickets for all three festivals are available on the RiotFest website.
