Just a few weeks ago, TYF’s writer Ryan told us some very exciting news: English alternative rock band Blur is releasing a new album this year! If you’ve been a fan of the band from their very beginnings like I have, these news should have put a huge smile on your face. In preparation for The Magic Whip, the band has released a few tracks just to give us fans a little taste of what to expect.
The first two tracks, “Go Out” and “There Are Too Many Of Us” gave us that known Blur 90s beat, with a touch of snark guitars tuners adding a few catchy lyrics. Yesterday, Damon Albarn‘s 47th birthday, the band released yet another single entitled “Lonesome Street“. Don’t be fooled by the title though, instead of a rather sad ballad, we get a song with a great guitar intro, a few synthesizer effects, and great vocals from Albarn and Mr. Graham Coxon himself. Not bad fellas. Definitely one of the albums I’m most excited about this year.
Listen to the new track below and let me know what you think!
The Magic Whip will be released in late April, but in case you missed it, here’s the second track of the upcoming album just released last week. Watch the video for “There Are Too Many Of Us” below:
