While I was trying to write a post about this great track, I decided to play the song in the background so that I could have better inspiration. Didn’t work. My brain decided to pay more attention to Noel Gallagher‘s voice in this acoustic version of “Some Might Say” instead of concentrating on writing about it. Ten minutes later, I’m back on track.
This demo was released by ex-English rock band Oasis early this morning as a little treat for fans and also as a small preview for the deluxe re-edition of the album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? scheduled to be released on September 29th. This slow-paced acoustic version was recorded at a soundcheck at the Club Quattro in Tokyo on September 14th, 1994. While listening to it, my theory of “acoustic versions sounds better” takes a stronger meaning.
So, stop doing what you are doing, turn up the volume and listen to “Some Might Say” sung by Noel Gallagher and played nearly 20 years ago.
And in case you haven’t done so, you can pre-order the remastered version of the original LP by clicking HERE. Bonus material also includes demos of “Rockin’ Chair“, “Hey Now“, “She’s Electric”, “Bonehead’s Bank Holiday“, and a lot of live recordings. Got a little more time? Listen to the “She’s Electric” demo below, just released a few weeks ago.
