2014 is turning out to be a great year for music. We are only half way through and new records from Weezer, Counting Crows, Interpol, Spoon and even Pink Floyd are on the way! Well, guess what: the British band The Kooks is also preparing new music. Listen will be the band’s fourth studio album and it’s scheduled to be released on September 1st, almost three years after the release of Junk of the Heart.
This new musical project sounds very different from their past material, according to frontman Luke Pritchard. In an interview done by NME last month, Pritchard said, “I think of this album as a debut album. We could have renamed the band, it felt that different. The first three albums were chapter one, this album is the first of chapter two.”
The first two singles released from the album were “Down” and “Around Town,” but single number three has to be my favorite. “Listen & Forget” has a really funky vibe. Watch the video for the track below and let us know what you think!
