I don’t know about you but I didn’t expect Andrew Garfield’s first dramatic outing after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to involve a fever dream dance sequence, but there it is.
Taking center stage in the band Arcade Fire’s new music video for their song “We Exist” the actor shaves his head, dons a dress and waltz’s onstage for a moment of liberation and self-expression. The story of the song is about a son trying to come out to his father and the music video has Garfield playing a character also trying to find peace. His first outing doesn’t go well and he doesn’t feel truly at home in his own skin until he arrives at the music festival Coachella. Shot by David Wilson the video allows a peak at a personal journey.
We still have a while until we see Garfield’s next acting turn but this will hold fans over nicely for now. And for Arcade Fire fans-what are your feelings on the song being their newest single and do you think the video does it justice?
Check out the music video below and let us know what you think of it and if the middle dance sequence caught you off guard as well.
