Ariana Grande, with the help of her knee high white boots, is fiercely stomping on competition as she rises through the charts.

Her debut of her new single, “Problem,” is topping the Billboard charts as it hit No. 1 in its first week’s release. With 438,000 downloads, it broke the record of largest opening week for a song this year!

As of now, the hit single is holding steady at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

“Problem” is one of the songs that will be featured on Grande’s upcoming second album that should be dropping later this summer. We can hear in this album that Grande has changed and evolved her sound. One thing that remains intact is Grande’s impeccable vocals. Whether you like her or not, you can’t deny that this girl can sing!

Though I may not always agree on her current fashion choices, her new music is capturing a greater audience and compelling us to listen. Grande is growing up and so are the contents of her lyrics, as this song is about a relationship that is acknowledged as problematic but still hard to get away from.

“Problem,” features rising rapper Iggy Azalea who makes a perfect fit with Grande, unexpectedly.

It seems they have partnered to dominate the charts together, as Iggy currently has two songs on the Hot 100 with her own single “Fancy” at No. 4.

“Problem” is enjoyable , likeable and  possibly one of this summer’s anthems as more and more people are catching on to it.

The things that are making this single stick:

–        That saxophone pulls you in.

–        Grande’s vocals mesmerize you as she’s sounding less like a school girl and more like a sultry, empowered young woman.

–        Iggy just kills it with her rap and gives the song an edge.

–        The beat on the track is infectious.

–        The lyrics: We all have had a relationship that has become a problem at some point, so this song is super relatable!

The only thing I would change would be Grande’s enunciation so I could catch the lyrics quicker through all her runs.

Give it a listen, and if you find it reminds you of someone, share the link and dedicate it to your “problem.”
