We are only a few days away from the release of Arcade Fire‘s fourth studio album, “Reflektor”. The band has had a lot of buzz in the past few weeks, promoting their new album in an unconventional way, such as interactive music videos, graffiti art here and there and even a costume party gig last Friday.
Last night, the band premiered on their Youtube Channel another song from Reflektor entitled ‘Afterlife‘. They performed this track on SNL last month. What’s interesting about this song is that it has been released as a lyric video…but don’t expect a black frame with little white letters in them. The clip of the song features footage from the 1959 Portuguese-language film “Black Orpheus“, directed by Marcel Camus. The film, combined with the synth-beat of the song, mashes up real good. I’m looking forward in listening to the rest of the album.
