Having been an Avril Lavigne addict for eighteen years straight and counting, you can just imagine how hard my Avril groupie senses were tingling when I heard about her fifth album was due to come out in spring this year.
I’ve been rockin’ out to her lyrical ingenuity since she made her debut in the Pop Rock world with her 1st album Let Go. Let Go was so big on the musical platform that it made No.2 on the Billboard 200 and scored No. 1 on the Australian, Canadian, and UK charts. Apparently the image of a rebellious seventeen year old that’s been set loose on the world was far more alluring compared to her most recent album, Goodbye Lullaby, that exposed a more ‘mature,’ soft rocker side of Lavigne that only true die-hard Avril fans could appreciate.
The most popular and probably heavily favored album from the princess of Pop Rock would be The Best Damn Thing released in early 2007. It sold 7.3 million copies, including versions of the song recorded in eight different languages. It also ranked No. 1 in Australia, Canada, Japan, and Italy and No. 2 in the UK and France. Frankly, if I had a chance to rate Avril Lavigne’s albums on a world chart, she’d always be ranked No.1.
So until Avril dishes the scoop on when the exact date of her fifth album will be released, I’m gonna… sit tight, Let Go, don’t let the anxiety get too much Under My Skin and know that this album is gonna be The Best Damn Thing that our eyes have ever seen.
Below are a few lyrics from her to-be-released single Here’s to Never Growing Up just to whet your appetite for what’s coming:
Here’s To Never Growing Up, up, up
We will never ever ever feel down down
