After fiercely denying rumors of a return, this morning Fall Out Boy announced their reunion in a big way–with a new song, a new national tour, and the promise of a new album.
Their new single, entitled “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” (a mouthful, in true Fall Out Boy fashion) is available for listening now on their website. You can also preorder the new album, Save Rock and Roll, there, though a release date has not been announced as of yet.
In addition to new tunes, Fall Out Boy listed tour dates to support the new album–including three “surprise” shows tonight in Chicago, tomorrow night in New York City, and Thursday night in Los Angeles–that all go on sale within a few days of this announcement. Tickets for the surprise shows were/are on sale by ten o’clock this morning. The Chicago and NYC shows were both sold out within two minutes of going on sale, much to this writer’s disappointment. Alas, there’s always the May shows!
Who’s excited for this awesome, emo, exceedingly verbose news? I know I am!
