Today, Kim Petras has released the final three tracks to complete her new full length project Clarity. “Icy,” “Meet the Parents,” and “Shinin’” top off a two month streak of Petras releasing a new single every week. A collection of 12 tracks, Clarity is a more grounded and personal effort from the rising pop star.
Clarity is an unexpected but welcome departure for Petras and sees her experiment with more urban elements that only made brief appearances in the nearly undiluted pop of Era 1. The latest tracks, the brokenhearted “Icy,” the no strings attached “Meet the Parents,” and Petras’ first empowerment anthem “Shinin’,” showcase the various sides of Petras that we know and love only in a new, hip-hop and R&B influenced package.
Kim Petras is a German-born pop artist best known for delivering bops with brilliant lyricism. She recently confirmed that she is in the process of working on the follow up to her Halloween mixtape, Turn Off the Light, Vol.1. Currently in the midst of her sold out Broken Tour, Petras is also set to appear at the World Pride NYC on June 29th.
