The 1975 have released the first single from their third album, the first taste in an “era” that will see the British group release two records in the span of 12 months.
“Give Yourself a Try” was premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Thursday, May 31. The song is the first taste of A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, which will be released in October. The album will be released on their longtime home Dirty Hit and was produced by their drummer George Daniel.
The band had previously claimed that their next album would be titled Music for Cars, after their 2013 EP. However, lead singer Matty Healy clarified to Mac that “Music for Cars” would instead be an “era” for the group that would see them release two albums: Brief Inquiry and its followup Notes on a Conditional Form, which would be released in 2019.
“Give Yourself a Try” is available now on all streaming services and can be puchased from iTunes and Amazon.
Update: The band have also released the song’s video, which can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Diane Martel, who previously helmed the band’s “Love Me” video.
