Franz Ferdinand are back, with a new song and lineup in advance of their upcoming fifth album.
“Always Ascending” is the lead single from the album of the same name, which will be released on February 9 on the band’s longtime home Domino Records. The album was produced by Philippe Zdar, one half of the French house duo Cassius.
Always Ascending is the band’s first album since the departure of co-founding guitarist and keyboardist Nick McCarthy, who left the band last year. He has been replaced by guitarist Dino Bardot and keyboardist Julian Corrie.
Along with the new single, the band will support their upcoming album with a series of European and North American tour dates (as well as one stop in Tokyo on Jan. 25) well into the new year. The band’s touring schedule can be found on their website, where fans can also pre-order Always Ascending on LP, CD and cassette.
