Just in case you happen to miss out on everything Taylor Swift the past few days or opted out of it but still want the low-down on what the hell is happening, we got you. Prior to her release of “Look What You Made Me Do” on Thursday evening, T. Swift confused all her Swifties by completely eliminating any trace of her social media presence. We’re talking goodbye to Instagram posts and controversial tweets. Those were soon replaced with videos of snakes aka what low-key has been synonymous with her lately.
Thursday evening, her first single was released to the public along with the artwork plus notice of ticket sales and that her upcoming album Reputation will drop November 10. Then, MTV/Taylor Swift announce that the music video will drop during the VMAs on Sunday night. And now, here we are.
The video itself says a lot and there are already multiple sources breaking down each scene possible to decipher the secret messages. Just to give you a brief overview: there’s a nod to the famous Kanye/Kardashian snake moment, Tom Hiddleston’s famous “I <3 T.S.” tee, the $1 from her recent court case that was massively covered just before this single dropped, and even a snap at her different personas.
But, look what we made Taylor Swift do. You have ½ of the swiftie army who will defend Taylor to the death. Then, you have the other ½ who could care less about what Tay Tay does but will still watch her video to be entertained on what Taylor’s deciding to be petty about now. Whatever your reasoning is, she’s ultimately winning in terms of getting the views and having piqued people’s interests. Get ready y’all, the old Taylor Swift’s “dead.” We have a new Taylor on our hands and we’re not sure what we’re gonna get with that.
How do you feel about her new music video/song?
