The final Indiana Jones movie is being made, and I, as well as many, am sad to say goodbye, but honestly, how many movies can be made out of Harrison Ford’s age? It is due to his age in fact that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have decided to end it here. Only Ford and Shia LaBeouf have been confirmed to star in the movie, but Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood/Mutt Williams’ mom/ Indiana Jones’ wife) has stated that she would like to star within the movie as well. It has also been stated that Lucas and Spielberg wanted “to leave with a bang,” they want their fans to feel amazed by the last movie instead of remembering just how terrible the CGI effects made the 4th.
Although the plot is still unknown and there isn’t even a title yet, there are many rumors in circulation. One source states that the final Jones will take place in the Bermuda Triangle (where many ships seem to get lost or experience some odd event). Another “far-out” source stated that Sean Connery, Henry Jones (Indie’s dad) would return in the last movie. It seems to be obviously fake because in the Crystal Skull, it was stated that Henry Jones had died, but since the film could be in the Bermuda Triangle, it’s been speculated that time travel could bring Henry Jones back.
And even though we only know that it’s in the works, we have no idea what’s happening. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Steven Spielberg has stated that the new Indiana Jones movie is, “up to George, We already have agreed on the genre of the fifth movie, we already have a concept in mind. I don’t know where George is with the story. There is no Indy 5 until George says there is.” Since the interview was a few years ago, and now that we know that there will be a new Jones movie, it’s all up to Lucas now. The only problem? Lucas said recently that he was retiring [again], leaving Jones fans wondering when the final movie will happen, and what will it bring.
