If you’re not familiar with Michael Peña at this point, then you need to get out from beneath that rock you’ve been living under and get to know him. The rest of us know him from such unforgettable films as Crash, End of Watch, The Martian, and most recently in the Marvel cinematic universe, Ant-Man. He’s a very talented actor who has already proven he can play a wide range of characters. He’s going to be in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp and Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time, but while those come out, you can enjoy him most recent film now on VOD, War on Everyone.
In War on Everyone, Peña stars alongside former vampire hunk Alexander Skarsgård as they fight criminals using their own tactics against them. This highly anticipated film comes from writer/director John Michael McDonagh, who brought us great films like The Guard and my personal favorite, Calvary. War on Everyone is undoubtedly McDonagh’s love letter to American cinema from the last 40 years, and it’s obvious that everyone involved, including Peña and Skarsgård, are having nothing but fun in the film.
