Jessica Chastain is known for giving really strong performances in any and all films the directors are lucky to have her in. Not only did we love her in dramas such as The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, but also in science fiction flicks like Interstellar and The Martian. This week we’ll be seeing her in the thriller Miss Sloane, and we can start marking our calendars for her next film in March 2017.
Focus Features released just a few days ago the first trailer for The Zookeeper’s Wife, a film that tells the real-life story of Antonina Zabinska and Jan Zabinski, a Polish zookeeper couple who helped save many lives during the Nazi invasion of Poland in World War II. Directed by Niki Caro and also starring Johan Heldenbergh, Daniel Brühl, and Michael McElhatton, the trailer shows a very moving and dramatic story that is sure to give us one more outstanding performance by Chastain.
I’m not too fond of World War II films, but I have to say that this one in particular has got my attention. Aside from Miss Chastain (and the cute little lion cubs!), Daniel Brühl is also another actor who usually gives memorable performances in films (I still remember him in Good Bye Lenin! and Rush). So that’s two reasons to put this film on our watch-list, right?
The Zookeeper’s Wife opens on March 31, 2017. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!
