Hello and welcome to yet another episode of Directors of Cinema, the show that highlights the careers of cinema’s most prominent directors. Each week, host Matt Goudreau and guest discuss selected works of a chosen director.
On this episode, Matt welcomes Michael Fairbanks to the airwaves to discuss another Matthew. His name is Vaughn….Matthew Vaughn. He hasn’t directed a Bond film as of yet but some of his films certainly signal his admiration for the franchise. While he’s only directed a handful of films, all of them have been adaptations, to some degree. As they discuss (along with a plethora of additional conversations), Matt and Michael point out why Vaughn has largely succeeded at applying his own stylistic touches to the work of others.
