Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, Kaa, Shere Khan, Akela. Reading these names is all it takes to get us excited for Disney’s upcoming live-action film The Jungle Book. If you’ve been following all the trailers and clips for this film in the past few months, you might have noticed that it’s full of very real animal CGI characters, each presented with its own story.
In the latest Imax trailer of The Jungle Book, we get to see a small intro done by Lupita Nyong’o (who voices mother wolf Raksha) followed by a scene where Mowgli (Neel Sethi) learns more about his past thanks to the snake Kaa (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). Afterwards, it’s just pure jungle book magic filled with realism and incredible cinematography.
Directed by Jon Favreau and based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories, the film also stars Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken, Giancarlo Esposito and the late Garry Shandling.
“This is a grand re-imaging of the classic tale,” Nyong’o says during the trailer, and I honestly can’t wait to see it! The Jungle Book opens on April 15. In the meantime, watch the latest trailer below and let us know what you think!
