Looking at a November 4th limited release date, John Crowley’s Brooklyn has already had a pretty phenomenal run. Premiering at Sundance back in January to warm reception and it’s gone on to wow throughout the fall festival circuit. With Saoirse Ronan already being predicted as a future Oscar nominee for the film, it should be one of your most anticipated films of the fall. The newest trailer has debuted and it’s a stunner, showcasing what will likely be the major dramatic draw of the film as the leading lady is torn between two versions of home. The film looks gorgeous, with the sets, scenery and costuming providing ample evidence into the films beautiful aesthetics. Easily one of the films I’m most excited to see in the upcoming months, Brooklyn looks to be a knock out. Check out the trailer and official synopsis below.
BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950’s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.
